Dean Fade

Drums – Vocals

Retired Corporate CEO

Foundation President

Dean is the only “outsider” having grown up in Chicago – but he’s lived in Memphis for almost 30 years. After early piano lessons he switched to the accordion but after the Beatles came along it became clear that rock-accordion was not going to be in demand. The choice was easy, the group he wanted to play with had everything except a drummer.

Dean played throughout High School and College with THE RHYDE which was voted as Northern Illinois’ most poplar band.  They became favorites on the Mid-West college circuit and were often called on to play opening act for concerts including THREE DOG NIGHT, FRANKIE VALLI, THE CRYAN SHAMES, SHADOWS OF KNIGHT, BUCKINGHAMS, QUESTION MARK AND THE MYSTERIANS, BABY HUEY and THE BABY SITTERS, and THE SOUL MACHINE.

Dean was a Division President for Time Warner for over 25 years and was an award winning businessman and civic activist.  He is a winner of the National Cable television industry’s highest award and was awarded the Corporate CEO Volunteer of the Year in Memphis.  He was awarded a Key to the City of Memphis from the Memphis City Council and Mayor for his community service. He currently serves as the Governors Commissioner for West Tennessee on the Tennessee Film and Music Commission and was Chairman of the Leadership Academy and The Coalition for a Better Memphis.

Dean has been married to Kathy for over 30 years and they have two sons, Jared and Evan.

For fun he enjoys skiing, tennis and bike riding.
